Sustainability
Sustainability is a BP Construction value. It is the process of maximising and managing all resources within a designated framework, of which environmental, economic, cultural, and social aspects are all considered equal. It relates to meeting the needs of all as of today, without impacting those of future generations. BP Construction, in conjunction with its supply chain partners recognises its responsibility for the environment and prosperity and health of its stakeholders.
It is BP Construction’s vision to be acknowledged as a provider of project management and construction services that align with the above ethos. We will meet the commitment to sustainability through the services provided and in the way we operate as a business.
RESPONSIBILITY
This lies first and foremost with the directors, and all employees. The senior leadership team leads and drives the implementation of the policy throughout all divisions of the business. BP Construction is committed to monitoring, reviewing, and amending the policy for improvement purposes as required.
AIMS OF THE POLICY
ACCOUNTABILITY IN PERFORMANCE
BP Construction Ltd will:
i. Optimise the efficient use of resources and minimise waste.
ii. Increase the use of recycled materials.
iii. Increase the use of materials manufactured and distributed in a sustainable manner.
iv. Invest in renewal energy where possible, and increase the use of renewable resources, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
v. Operate in a manner that minimises adverse impacts on the environment and local communities.
vi. Encourage all members of its supply chain to adopt sustainable practices.
ACCOUNTABILITY IN DELIVERY
BP Construction Ltd will:
i. Provide the resources required to meet our sustainability processes, objectives, and targets.
ii. Promote and take positive actions to ensure continual improvement in terms of sustainability performance.
iii. Provide a management system that incorporates the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology.
iv. Sit down, agree, and set clearly defined sustainable development objectives and targets.
v. Repair, reuse and recycle ahead of the responsible disposal of surplus materials.
vi. Reduce unnecessary travel via accurate planning and management processes.
vii. Ensure the value is imprinted into the DNA of our staff, and the development of said staff’s capacity to promote and action the principles and practice of sustainability.
viii. Reward and celebrate achievement in the sector, to promote our business as a sustainable entity.
MEASURING PROGRESS AND IMPACT
BP Construction Ltd will set targets, create indicators to measure progress and conduct a full review annually, with an action plan being drafted and implemented as a result.
